Banner is Unavailable

Banner and related applications are offline and unavailable

Saturday, October 12, to Wednesday, October 16,

as we migrate applications and databases to the cloud.


Affected applications:

The following services are inaccessible from 12:01 Saturday morning until 11:59 Wednesday night:

  • Banner
  • Leo Online
  • Touchnet
  • DegreeWorks
  • Cognos (Insight)
  • Other Ellucian applications

A “read-only” version of the Banner database remains available to supporting systems like MIDAS and Shibboleth to enable continuous operations of other ODU systems.

Withdrawal

Students who need to withdraw from Session 2 classes by the October 14 deadline can use this temporary form while Leo Online is down.

Travel Autobmobile Expense

Procurement & Travel

Requisitions can be processed in eVA. However, the PO will not be imported into Banner until Banner is back up.

Travel transactions may be submitted through Chrome River but will not be posted and paid until Banner is available.

2015 Student Graduation

Advising

ODUGlobal advisors have downloaded academic information for students with advising sessions scheduled during fall break. They will have offline versions of student data to use in these appointments.

Leo Online is unavailable during the outage. Hourly employees (including students) should submit their time sheets by October 17, 11:59 p.m. Approvers and proxies have until October 18, 10 p.m. to approve time sheets.

Accounts

Accounts

All databases are frozen while they are copied to the cloud. We are unable to create new accounts, edit MIDAS groups or make changes to directory information in Monarch Profile Manager during the outage

Parking

The ODU Parking Portal is unavailable Friday, October 11, 11:30 p.m., through October 16, 12:30 a.m. Online credit card payments cannot be processed, but you can make payments in person at the parking office during regular business hours. MobilePay is not affected.
