Do you have low back pain from a lumbosacral transitional vertebrae(LSTV)?
Have you been diagnosed with Bertolotti's Syndrome? Or are you waiting to get your formal diagnosis of Bertolotti's Syndrome?
Bertolotti's syndrome is a condition where an extra, or "transitional," vertebra forms at the junction of the lumbar spine (lower back) and the sacrum (top of the pelvis). This extra vertebra can cause pain and movement difficulties.
Unfortunately for many patients it isn't overtly diagnosed unless their physician is familiar with this diagnosis and it may simply be labeled as an incidental finding of "transitional vertebra" or "lumbosacral transitional vertebrae (LSTV) on their MRI.
However, this transitional vertebrae can cause pain, stiffness, and other symptoms that are widely misunderstood by the medical community.
This research study aims to add to the body of literature by showcasing how Bertolotti's Syndrome may impact:
-Health Related Quality of Life
-Posture
-Balance
-Gait
