Norfolk Chamber Consort, under the direction of ODU faculty Andrey Kasparov, Bianca Hall and Oksana Lutsyshyn presents, “The Secret Music: the art of virtuosity in late 16th-century Ferrara,” featuring music written for and inspired by the concerto delle donne, a trio of highly skilled professional female singer-instrumentalists, whose skill and virtuosity revolutionized the role of women in professional music in the late Renaissance. The highly varied program includes music by Luzzaschi, Andrea Gabrieli, Frescobaldi, Monteverdi and others.
