The Center for Secure & Intelligent Critical Systems at Old Dominion University is seeking a highly motivated Graduate Research Assistant to join our team for a research project focusing on innovative AI/ML techniques for analyzing transcriptomic data to discover novel biomarkers in prostate cancer.
Project Objectives:
Develop AI/ML-based techniques to analyze transcriptomic data and identify potential therapeutic biomarkers.
Utilize cutting-edge deep learning models (e.g., CNN, RNN, Transformers) to improve cancer treatment outcomes.
Apply hybrid machine learning methods to predict prostate cancer prognosis and patient responses to treatment.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to validate models and biomarkers in a biological research setting.
Who We Are Looking For:
Strong background in machine learning and data analysis.
Proficiency in Python.
Experience with deep learning frameworks like Pytorch.
Strong interest in applying AI to biomedical data.
Background in biological data analysis, high-dimensional data handling, or genomics is a plus.
