General Services from VISA

Document Shipping Service

VISA now uses an express shipping service, eShipGlobal, for those who wish to receive their documents via United Parcel Service (UPS), FedEx or DHL. Please note that express shipping is done at the individual's expense; registration and activation of an account are free.

Before creating a shipping request, please be sure that you received an email from VISA stating that your document is ready for pick-up. Follow the steps below and your documents will be on their way to you ASAP!

  1. Visit the eShipGlobal site which works best with Internet Explorer or Firefox. DO NOT go to the DHL or FedEx sites directly.

  2. Complete the registration form and, within 30 minutes, you will receive an email requesting that you activate your account.

  3. Select the "Receive" option.

  4. Select "Old Dominion University."

  5. Select the specific university department "Visa & Immigration Service Advising."

  6. Complete the shipping form and select "Ship/Quote."

  7. You will receive a quote and carrier options - FedEx, UPS, or DHL. At this stage, you are also able to select your method of payment (credit card, PayPal, or wire transfer).

  8. You and VISA will both receive a confirmation email with details about your shipment (i.e. payment amount, tracking number, mailing address, etc.).

Questions or problems? Please use the "Help" link on the site and, if you have additional questions, please e-mail eShipGlobal. We also have screen-shot instructions.
