On Tuesday, October 18, Wayne Morris received an award fo Distinguished Performance on the Written Qualifying Exam. This award is not given out each year. It is given for truly exceptional performance on the written qualifier, not just the highest score. Along with a plaque of recognition, Wayne also received a monetary award of $1,000 that was made possible because of the generosity of Drs. Luminita and Dorin Todor, both of whom graduated with a PhD in Physics from ODU.

Luminita and Dorin Todor are Romanian-born husband and wife who relocated to the United States in search of doctoral degrees in physics. More of the heartwarming and inspiring story of Drs. Luminita and Dorin Todor can be found here.
