The Department of Political Science and Geography is excited to share that our colleague Dr. Sina Razzaghi Asl, Assistant Professor of Hazards and Environmental Geography, been selected as a Fellow in the National Science Foundation–funded Enabling the Next Generation of Hazards and Disasters Researchers Fellowship Program.  This is a highly selective NSF program run by the Natural Hazards Center at the University of Colorado Boulder. The Natural Hazards Center is a premier national and international research hub established in 1976 focused on societal dimensions of disasters, hazards mitigation, and emergency management.

Dr. Razzaghi Asl's participation in the program will boost not only his research program but continue to sustain and elevate the profile of the ODU Geography's Hazards and Emergency Management area of research and education as well as ODU's Coastal Resilience Research Thrust led by the Institute for Coastal Adaptation and Resilience (ICAR).  We wish Dr. Razzaghi Asl the best success in the program's workshops, mentoring, and unique networking opportunities toward sponsored research in these fields and look forward to his future enrichment of our research program and education.
