Healthcare Administrative and Leadership Fellowship

Administrative fellows will develop a knowledge base and skills training that are essential for successful leadership in emergency medicine (EM) as a business, with a focus on the elements of an independent physician practice.

Application Process

All applicants are required to submit:

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • A letter of intent/personal statement
  • Two letters of recommendation (One must be from their EM Residency Program Director)
  • Submit to Dr. Heidi Best

The letter of intent should be one page or less. Applicants should describe their interests in academic Emergency Medicine and how the fellowship may enhance their career goals and expectations.
Interview offers will be extended at the Fellowship Director's discretion. Fellows will be notified of acceptance through email.
 

Qualifications
All applicants must graduate from an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program. Applicants must be considered board-eligible or board-certified (BE/BC) by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). All applicants must qualify for a Virginia state medical license and be able to be credentialed in the Sentara Healthcare system.
