Expertise

Biology
Phytoplankton ecology and systematics, bloom and toxin producing species

Research Interests

The ecology, distribution, and presence of phytoplankton species within Chesapeake Bay, Atlantic coastal waters, and Virginia rivers and lakes. Plus, emphasis on the presence of bloom producing and harmful algal species in these waters. Also, a member of a team of investigators involved in the cultivation of algae for biodiesel production.
