Dr. Xiaoyu Zhang joined ODU in 2013 as an assistant professor. Prior to joining ODU, he worked as a post-doctoral research associate at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) from 2010 to 2013. His research at INL mainly focused on clean fuel production through high temperature electrolysis. He also conducted research on photoelectrochemical water splitting and nuclear fuel rod cladding materials at INL. Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from University of Connecticut. His research at UCONN was on Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells and Solid Oxide Fuel Cells. Dr. Zhang received both B.S. and M.S. from Nanjing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics (NUAA) in China.
