We are pleased to announce that the prestigious Evon-Broderick Award will open November 9, 2026, to currently enrolled sophomores and juniors. Please take a moment to review the information and encourage eligible students to apply.
The Evon-Broderick Award is one of the University’s most distinguished honors. In 2011, Old Dominion University’s 8th President Emeritus, John R. Broderick, and First Lady Emerita, Kate Broderick—along with family members who chose to remain anonymous—established and endowed this award in honor of their mothers, Joan Evon and Ellen Broderick.
This esteemed honor recognizes ODU students who, like the award’s namesakes, exemplify a strong commitment to service and civic engagement through outstanding leadership and meaningful contributions to both the University and the surrounding community. Recipients represent the very best of Monarch citizenship and are awarded a monetary gift. The recipients will be announced at the University's annual Student Awards & Honors Event on April 7th, 2027.
