ODU's Online Computer Engineering Technology Program Cited

Old Dominion University's online bachelor of science computer engineering technology program is cited on Online-Bachelor-Degrees.com's list of the 10 Best Online Schools for Bachelor's in Computer Engineering for 2019.

The other institutions include Florida International, Johns Hopkins, Arizona State and the University of Arizona. The universities were selected based on the courses offered, online learning platform, program duration, tuition and career options for graduates.

ODU's program in computer engineering technology aims to prepare students for the design, building and installation of software, hardware, networking operations, computing devices and internet-based systems among various disciplines.

Graduates move into careers in the fields of software and computer engineering, network management or design, production, image processing and robotics, communications, and control systems.

The coursework is delivered in synchronous and asynchronous formats. Courses focus on such areas as microprocessors and microcontrollers, linear electronics and digital electronics lab.

The curriculum also requires students to take a minor in computer science consisting of surveys of advanced data structures, algorithms and internet concepts. Old Dominion is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the online degree program is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission.
