You Can Now Tour the Barry Art Museum With Google Street View

People will now be able to take a virtual tour of the Barry Art Museum at Old Dominion University.

The interior of the Museum can be viewed on Google Street View. To access it, go to this link. The view of Hampton Boulevard and 43rd Street in Google Maps predates Museum construction but will be updated shortly.

The 24,000-square-foot, two-story facility, which opened in November, is the result of a $37 million gift - the largest in University history - of art and funds from Richard and Carolyn Barry.

The current exhibit has more than 300 works of art, primarily from the Barrys' personal collection. It includes 20th-century American modernist paintings, international glass sculptures, historic dolls and European automata.

The museum, led by Executive Director Jutta-Annette Page, serves as an educational resource for the University and surrounding communities. It is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and weekends noon to 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free. The Museum is located at 1075 W. 43rd Street. For more information, go to barryartmuseum.odu.edu or call (757) 683-6200.
