Monarchs Accessibility Design and Practice Training (ADAPT)

The Monarchs Accessibility Design And Practice Training (ADAPT): Building Accessible Digital Content workshop series is designed to be a supportive, high-impact space for you to refine your digital craft. Rather than a one-size-fits-all training, these modules offer a deep dive into creating accessible materials that empower every student from day one.

  • Beyond the Fix: ADAPT focuses on moving beyond reactive remediation by empowering faculty to design accessible content proactively. By incorporating accessibility practices from the beginning, we can reduce the time spent correcting accessibility issues later.
  • Expanded Training Pathways: This scaffolded, asynchronous Canvas course has been expanded to cover the many digital touchpoints faculty encounter. Training includes foundational concepts such as color contrast, typography, and alt text, along with structured document design for word processing files, presentations, spreadsheets, Canvas pages, multimedia, PDFs, and more.
  • Flexible, Self-Paced Learning: Faculty can work through the training at their own pace while gaining practical skills that can be applied directly to their courses and digital materials.
