Well-Being Woven In

Health Promotion is not a clinical office.

Instead, we help members of the ODU community explore campus resources, connect with supportive communities, navigate challenges, and build practical wellness skills. Sometimes you know exactly what you need. Sometimes you simply know something feels “off.” Both are okay. Schedule a Quick Connect for help.

Discover how we make well-being part of the everyday ODU experience. We’re here to help create a campus where students, faculty, and staff feel connected, supported, and empowered. Explore our mission, values, and the ways we work across campus to help every Monarch flourish.

Rooted in care and connection, our mission is to embed health into all aspects of campus culture and operations. By cultivating a supportive environment and resilient networks, we empower the Monarch community to flourish, driving student success, belonging, and long-term retention.

Start with Connection

Our team works alongside students, faculty, staff, and campus and community partners to strengthen the connections, resources, and environments that support student success, belonging, and well-being.

Well-Being Takes a Community

Well-being is a shared responsibility across campus.

Health Promotion partners with offices, departments, student organizations, and campus leaders to strengthen support systems and create healthier campus experiences.

Health Promotion uses student feedback, assessment data, campus collaboration, and evidence-informed strategies to guide programs, outreach, and initiatives.

We regularly evaluate:

  • Workshops and trainings

  • Student engagement

  • Campus campaigns

  • Participation trends

  • Sense of belonging

  • Student feedback and satisfaction

Assessment helps us continue improving programs and strengthening student support across campus.

Health Promotion is committed to transparency, continuous improvement, and evidence-informed practice.

We use:

  • Student feedback

  • Participation data

  • Assessment tools

  • Campus collaboration

  • National best practices

to better understand student needs and opportunities for support.

Our goal is not simply to collect data—but to use it thoughtfully to improve the student experience and strengthen campus well-being efforts.

Understanding student experiences helps guide meaningful support and campus well-being efforts.
