If you are interested in submitting a nomination for a 2021 Governor's Honor Award, please contact HR Employee Relations by 5pm tomorrow to ensure timely submission by the July 9th deadline for entries. ER is available to assist with questions and completion of the ODU nomination packet submission.

This program recognizes noteworthy accomplishments by classified full-time, classified part-time, and wage employees that significantly contribute to the advancement of the Commonwealth's strategic goals, mission, objectives, and overall administrative excellence.

The dedication, talent, and contributions of these employees make a difference. The Honor Awards represent an opportunity to express appreciation for their excellence in serving the people of Virginia.

The 11 award categories recognize accomplishments made across the Commonwealth and will be presented at the Executive Mansion in Richmond on September 15, 2021. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the date of the award presentation is tentative.

Only one nomination per category will be accepted for each agency. Employees are encouraged to address accomplishments for consideration with their immediate supervisor for referral to the Department of Human Resources.

This is an excellent opportunity for supervisors to recognize your classified and wage employee's contributions and achievements in the performance of their job duties and their commitment to ODU and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Additional information and full details on categories, judging criteria, and eligibility for consideration can be found online at https://www.dhrm.virginia.gov/governor's-honor-awards.

Thank you for the work that you do!
