BENEFITS

During Open Enrollment you may enroll in health benefits, change plans, add or remove family members, waive coverage, and enroll in a flexible spending account. You can submit your election requests beginning May 3, 2021 using EmployeeDirect. For additional information see the Spring 2021 Spotlight on Your Benefits newsletter.

Flexible Spending Accounts
As a reminder you must re-enroll each year to continue participating in FSAs. The maximum Health FSA contribution is up to $2,750/plan year. The maximum Dependent Care FSA is up to $5,000/plan year, depending on your tax filing status.

No action is required if you

  • have no health plan-related changes,
  • are not enrolling in an FSA, or
  • do not plan to participate in Premium Rewards.

IMPORTANT: When adding dependents to your health coverage, supporting documentation is required that provides proof of eligibility. If you do not have the documentation, do not miss your deadline. The documents can be submitted later to the Department of Human Resources/Benefits via the Benefits Box at benefits@odu.edu. For a list of acceptable documentations, go to page 9 of the attached spotlight.
