Symposium to Highlight Nearly 125 Undergraduate Research Projects
The 2020 Undergraduate Research Symposium will take place on Feb. 8 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Perry Library Learning Commons.
"This year, we have hit a record number of student submissions," said Eddie Hill, director of undergraduate research.
In fact, this year Center for Faculty Development Director Annette Finley-Croswhite will moderate a panel of students from her History of Medicine, Disease and Health Technology class, where undergraduate research is embedded in the course. Her student presenters include Brieanne Bullaro, Jaden Edmonds, Benjamin Legere and Tyler Zawislak.
Sponsored by the Perry Honors College, the 12th annual symposium will include nearly 125 undergraduate posters, oral sessions and art exhibits, Hill said. The event gives undergraduates the opportunity to present the results of their research and creative projects in a public forum.
Undergraduate research has been called a high-impact pedagogy that enhances student learning and success through mentorship and by embedding research into course curricula.
"The Perry Honors College provides a great conduit to connect students to scholarship across the entire campus," Hill said. "We are extremely excited to showcase the outstanding work of our students."
