February Is Black History Month

Please note the many Black History Month events of interest to faculty. For a more complete list see the web page of the Office of Intercultural Relations.

​February 5: "Let's Talk About Our Dream: The Pillage of Africa." The talk highlights the rich history of Africa as well as the exploitation of Africa. Batten Arts and Letters Room 3060, 5:30 p.m. With Dr. Melvina Sumter, associate professor of sociology and criminal justice.

February 9: "Black History Through Song." A recital created by student Asia Daniels and performed by ODU students and alumni. Diehn Center for the Performing Arts, Chandler Recital Hall, 4 p.m.

February 20-March 1: "Echoes." The interactive performance explores female pain, anger and strength. Produced by ODURep; written and directed by Brittney S. Harris, visiting assistant professor of theatre. Goode Theatre, 7:30 p.m.
