Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced his appointments to the boards of visitors at Virginia's 15 public colleges and universities, the State Council for Higher Education for Virginia and the State Board for Community Colleges.

The appointments to the Old Dominion University Board of Visitors included Donna Scassera Fischer, president of DLS Engineering Associates, Inc., and member of the Batten College of Engineering and Technology Advisory Board.

Fischer has more than 30 years' experience in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of integrated engineering and logistics services. She founded DLS Engineering Associates, Inc. in 1995, which provides professional engineering and integrated logistics services to a variety of federal government customers. She has more than 20 years of experience in integrated logistics systems, supply chain management, civil engineering, and project management.

Prior to starting DLS Engineering, Fischer began her professional career as a Project Engineer with the Shell Oil Corporation, worked as a Construction Engineer with SR International, and served as a Senior Project Engineer with M. Rosenblatt and Son.

She maintains her Professional Engineer certification with the Commonwealth of Virginia; and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State University. Fischer is a supporter of the US Coast Guard Foundation and the Society of Women Engineers; and is the past President of American Society of Naval Engineering.
