Terainer Brown, Ph.D.

Dr. Terainer Brown is an Assistant Professor of Higher Education and Director of the Higher Education ASSETs Lab. Her work advances the science and scholarship of educational transitions by examining the intersection of student development, educational mobility, and institutional design. Drawing on leadership experience spanning K–12 education, higher education administration, federal policy, and military-connected education, her research explores how institutions intentionally design experiences that cultivate the psychosocial competencies that support student success. Dr. Brown has led nationally recognized pathway initiatives, directed a federally funded McNair Scholars Program, and served in senior educational leadership roles across higher education and government. Her work bridges research and practice to expand educational opportunity and ensure student success.
