Lecturer
Interdisciplinary Studies Program

Dinesh Rajendran

Dineshkumar Rajendran is a Lecturer in Interdisciplinary Studies at Old Dominion University, where he teaches game design and development courses. He holds a Master's degree in Multimedia Technology from Anna University, India, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Vellore Institute of Technology, India, with research focusing on stealth assessment and deep learning applications in game-based learning environments.
With over 15 years of experience in game design education, Rajendran has taught at institutions across four countries, including British University Vietnam, Guangdong University of Technology (China), and Vellore Institute of Technology (India). His teaching expertise spans game development with Unity and C#, 3D modeling and animation, visual design, and UI/UX design.
Rajendran has published research in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Supercomputing and Soft Computing, and co-authored a book on Virtual Reality Aided Education and Gamified Academia. He holds an Australian patent for a voice-based navigation system for the visually impaired. His students have published over 50 games on the Google Play Store, and he has developed innovative teaching tools freely available to the game design community. He is a member of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA).
