Old Dominion University was well represented at the American Counseling Association award reception in Columbus, Ohio. The ACA is the flagship professional organization for the counseling field, representing all specialties—including addictions, veterans’ services, school counseling, and more—with approximately 60,000 members worldwide.
Dr. Brittany Suggs received the Robert Rencken Emerging Professional Leader Award. ODU doctoral counseling students Chimdiogo Onyeani-Nwosu, Chukwuebuka Oniyia, Mashal Bilal, and Ajayla Evins earned third place in the national ACA Ethics Competition under the mentorship of Dr. Ed Neukrug. In addition, Dr. Gulsah Kemer received the ACA Extended Research Award, and Dr. Emily Goodman-Scott was honored with the ACA Research Award.
