Old Dominion University will cohost the 11th annual Virginia Women’s Conference from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in Webb Center. The University cohosted the conference in 2011 and 2014, and this is the first time it has been offered since the pandemic.

The conference provides a venue for Virginia women to network, hear from experts on a variety of topics and gather resources from federal, state and local agencies.

The event is free to the public, but registration is required and space is limited. You can register  here.

The conference, a nonpartisan, nonpolitical official U.S. Senate constituent services event, is cohosted by Sen. Mark R. Warner, Cox Communications, Dominion Energy, Market Exec, TowneBank, Sentara Health, Virginia Natural Gas, Aramark and 5Points Creative.

This year’s conference, themed “Harness Your Power,” features Capt. Janet Days, commanding officer of Naval Station Norfolk, as keynote speaker. Warner will offer remarks, and there will be a variety of workshops, followed by a resource fair featuring federal agencies, nonprofits and other organizations.

Visit the conference’s  website for a full program schedule and information on the planned breakout sessions, including workshops on women’s health, artificial intelligence, data privacy and salary negotiation.

A complimentary continental breakfast and lunch will be provided, and refreshments will also be available for purchase in the food court.

Doors open and check-in will begin at 8 a.m. Attendees should park in the 49th Street garage.
