Old Dominion University received a College Partnership Laboratory School Planning Grant to work with Newport News Public Schools. Lab Schools are public schools in Virginia that are being established by institutions of higher education in partnership with local school divisions. Planning grants are for supporting the design of a lab school. The Virginia General Assembly appropriated $5 million for planning grants, of which, ODU and NNPS received $200,000. The Principle Investigator for the grant is Dr. Brian Payne. Dr. Sanzo is joined on the grant with Dr.s Maggie Barber and Joanna Garner. Read more about lab schools.
