Join us for Pride in the Pages: We Will Not Be Redacted, an educational program exploring the power of LGBTQ+ representation in literature and the importance of preserving queer stories and voices.
In collaboration with Norfolk Public Library, this event will examine how LGBTQ+ people, histories, and experiences have been represented in literature throughout the years. Participants will discover books that offer insight into diverse LGBTQ+ identities and perspectives while engaging in conversations about visibility, storytelling, and community.
The program will also explore the history and ongoing impact of censorship on queer literature, highlighting the importance of access to stories that educate, inspire, and foster understanding. Through discussion and reflection, students will gain a deeper appreciation for literature as a tool for learning, advocacy, and social change.
Whether you're an avid reader, interested in LGBTQ+ history, or looking to learn more about queer voices in literature, this event offers an opportunity to connect, reflect, and engage with stories that matter.
Come celebrate the power of books, amplify LGBTQ+ voices, and affirm that queer stories belong on our shelves and in our communities. 🌈✨
