Cybersecurity Undergraduate Research Program

Want to earn some extra money. Consider applying to this independent research program. You don't have to be a cybersecurity major to apply, but your topic must be related to cybersecurity. Apply today.

Are you interested in conducting research on cybersecurity topics? If yes, consider applying for the Coastal Virginia Center for Cybersecurity Innovation (COVA CCI) Undergraduate Cybersecurity Research Program. 

This is an independent research program where you will conduct research on a cybersecurity related topic of your choosing with guidance from a mentor during the semester. You don’t have to be a cybersecurity major to participate in this program.

Earn a $1000 stipend at the end of the program for your work. 

Each selected student will participate in a Kick-off meeting on January 17, 2025, and will present their final research project during a Showcase event on April 17, 2025.

January 10, 2025 – Applications Due

January 17, 2025 – Start program and Kick-Off meeting.

April 17, 2025November 25, 2024 – Showcase and end program.
