We offer a BSBA in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accountancy, both endorsed by the Institute of Management Accountants. Our separate accreditation from AACSB International reflects the highest standards in accounting education. Our programs prepare students for certifications such as CPA, CMA, and CIA, and for careers across public and private accounting.
Our faculty are the foundation of our strength, accomplished scholars and experienced professionals with backgrounds in Big 4 firms, industry, and leadership roles. More than 85% hold certifications such as CPA and CMA, and nearly half hold terminal PhDs, ensuring rigorous and practical training. Working closely with them, our Accounting Advisory Board keeps the curriculum current and aligned with industry expectations while bringing professional practice into the classroom through mentoring, engagement, and recruiting events.
From day one, students engage with the profession through our Accounting Readiness Workshop, Career Fair, Meet the Firms events, guest speakers, and ongoing networking, building strong technical skills, communication abilities, and professional confidence. Most complete internships before graduation, and many secure full-time offers. At the same time, student clubs like Beta Alpha Psi and National Association of Black Accountants enrich the student experience by fostering friendships, leadership development, and create lasting memories as part of the Monarch community.
Our results speak clearly. In return on investment, our BSBA in Accounting ranks #3 in Virginia, and our MSA ranks #1 in Virginia and #3 nationally. We recognize the investment in education students and families make, and we give back through a wide range of financial support, including scholarships, assistantships, fellowships, and other aid, while honoring that trust with a student-centered approach, strong outcomes, and a commitment to excellence.
