About this Program

The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Teaching Licensure degree is intended for those who wish to pursue a career in teaching mathematics at the high school level, and leads to teaching licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Requirements

What are the requirements to apply for Mathematics, Teaching Licensure at ODU?
Students entering the Bachelor of Science program in Mathematics, Teaching Licensure should meet the minimum university admission requirements Undergraduate Admission.
  • Math Core courses: 34 credits (GPA of 2.3)

  • Teacher Preparation specific courses: 21 credits (2.75 GPA)

  • Professional Education courses (STEM): 26 credits (2.75 GPA)
