The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Teaching Licensure degree is intended for those who wish to pursue a career in teaching mathematics at the high school level, and leads to teaching licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Applied and theoretical mathematics courses are tailored to those seeking teacher preparation
Includes a semester of apprentice teaching, through the MonarchTeach program
Middle School Teachers, Except Special and Career/Technical Education
Teach students in one or more subjects in public or private schools at the middle, intermediate, or junior high level, which falls between elementary and senior high school as defined by applicable laws and regulations.
Secondary School Teachers, Except Special and Career/Technical Education
Teach students in one or more subjects, such as English, mathematics, or social studies at the secondary level in public or private schools. May be designated according to subject matter specialty.
Math Core courses: 34 credits (GPA of 2.3)
Teacher Preparation specific courses: 21 credits (2.75 GPA)
Professional Education courses (STEM): 26 credits (2.75 GPA)
