In order to provide the opportunity for practicing engineers to further their knowledge and to become more competent in the fields of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering offers a non-degree graduate level certificate program in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
- The certificate program offers two tracks: Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering
- Credits earned in this program will be transferable to the Master's degree program sin Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Design, develop, and take responsibility for the installation of ship machinery and related equipment including propulsion machines and power supply systems.
Marine Engineers and Naval Architects
Design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as power supply and propulsion systems.
Design and oversee construction and repair of marine craft and floating structures such as ships, barges, tugs, dredges, submarines, torpedoes, floats, and buoys. May confer with marine engineers.
- Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, or a related field
