TCEP was Awarded a Grant to Help Enrich the Lives of Military Connected Students

YCSD Environmental and Maritime Science Career Pathways Program: This Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) funded project focuses on increasing awareness and exploration of careers within Environmental or Maritime Science pathways for military-connected elementary and middle school students and increasing college, career, and civic readiness for military-connected high school students in the York County School Division (YCSD). YCSD has partnered with the TCEP to implement the program. TCEP faculty will design and deliver professional development for YCSD administrators and staff to meet the grant goal of environmental literacy and maritime pathways integration. This includes designing a curriculum model that integrates environmental science and maritime concepts and skills into core science courses and other disciplines at the elementary and secondary levels. They will also work with YCSD staff to create a sustainable strategic plan for the environmental literacy model.
