ODU Government Relations is accepting applications for our General Assembly Internship program for the 2027 legislative session! Through this internship, students have an opportunity to learn about state lawmaking, policy development, and see the day-to-day work of an elected official. The internship is a full-time paid position with housing in Richmond, VA from January-March. Students are encouraged to take online courses for the spring session. The internship is open to undergraduate and graduate students of all majors. Ideal candidates have interest in lawmaking, public policy, civic engagement, community service, politics, and government. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in an in-person interview with the internship selection committee in the month of October. The application is due by 5PM October 12th.
