On behalf of the ODU S.A.R.T. Committee, we invite you to join us for Recognizing Risk, Responding with Care: Understanding Abuse, Strangulation, and Campus Support, a virtual lunch-and-learn designed specifically for faculty, staff, and university administrators who support students across our institution.

📅 Date: Tuesday, September 8th, 2026
🕛 Time: 12:00–1:00 p.m.
📍 Location: Virtual (Zoom)
🔗 Registration: https://cglink.me/2cN/r2273622

This session will provide an important opportunity to strengthen our collective understanding of dating and domestic violence, recognize common warning signs, and learn why strangulation is a medical emergency and significant predictor of future lethal violence.

Participants will also learn how to respond appropriately when a student or colleague discloses abuse and become familiar with campus and community resources.

This session will emphasize that our role is not to investigate, but to recognize, respond with care, and connect individuals to appropriate resources.
