Kathleen Winters, Flute, and Ruth Winters, Piano, will give an exciting recital Saturday, October 15, 2016, 7:30 PM, in Chandler Recital Hall in the Diehn Center for Performing Arts on the campus of Old Dominion University. Praised as “elegant, communicative, and full of character,” Kathleen Winters is in demand as a performer, teacher, clinician, and adjudicator. Second Flutist of the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra (DSSO) since October 2010, Ms. Winters served as acting Principal Flutist for the DSSO’s 2014-2015 season and has been Principal Flutist of the Regali Chamber Winds, Indiana State University's ensemble in residence, since 2013. Kathleen has performed throughout the United States in venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and has performed internationally in England, France, and Italy. Ms. Winters is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Illinois. The recital is free and open to the public and is a preview of the program Ms. Winters will present later this month as a semi-finalist in the prestigious Concert Artist Guild Solo Competition in New York City. The program includes works by Debussy, Bach, Griffes, Copland, Fukushima, Taffanel, and Dick. For further information: pwatters@odu.edu.
