Department professors participated as panelists at the AAPI Solidarity Reading event

Three department professors, Michiko Kaneyasu, Minori Marken, and Zhongtang Ren, participated as panelists and shared their stories and poems at the "Stronger Together: An AAPI Solidarity Reading" on May 3, 2021. This event was organized by VA Poet Laureate Luisa A. lgloria of the English Department in response to recent heightened violence toward AAPI bodies and communities. The event coincided with the start of AAPI Heritage Month and was presented by the College of Arts and Letters, the Office of Intercultural Relations, the Center for Faculty Development, the Office of Faculty Diversity and Retention, the Department of World Cultures and Languages, the ODU Asian Faculty Caucus and the MFA Creative Writing Program.
