About this Program
Old Dominion University offers a minor in Latin American Studies. This program offers an opportunity to study one of the most diverse and fascinating regions of the world. You’ll explore issues and topics pertaining to Latin America with courses from various fields of study including music, politics, economics, women’s studies, archeology, theatre, art history, language, literature, architecture, agriculture, science and history. The minor is beneficial to students interested in careers in teaching, law, health care, business, communications, the arts, nonprofits, government and other fields, and for students wishing to pursue graduate degrees with emphasis on area studies or foreign language.

For completion of a minor, a student must have a minimum overall cumulative grade point average of 2.00 in all courses specified as a requirement for the minor exclusive of lower-level courses and prerequisite courses and complete a minimum of six hours in upper-level courses in the minor requirement through courses offered by Old Dominion University.
