Did you know that Wikipedia is the largest reference source on the web and one of the most popular websites? And yet, notable people, concepts, and art from disability activism are either not mentioned or underdeveloped on the online encyclopedia. Come join us in ODU’s first ever Disability Activism Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon! We will work together to expand Wikipedia’s material on disability activism with instruction provided by students enrolled in Feminist Disability Studies (WMST 495/595) and the Wikimedia Foundation. Free t-shirts for the first 30 participants, and free food for all! Sponsored by University Libraries and the Women’s Studies Department.
