Junior Faculty Research Mentoring Program 2016-17

The Office of Research invites nominations for the 2016-2017 Junior Faculty Research Mentoring Program (JFRMP).  The JFRMP program supports faculty-to-faculty mentoring by pairing a senior faculty member with a track record of extramural funding and a junior tenure-track faculty member who wants to be mentored & commits to submit a competitive funding proposal at the end of the mentoring period.

Proposal submissions to the Office of Research should include the following:

-          Junior Faculty Research Mentoring Program Application Form

-          A 2-3 page description addressing:

1.      Why you need a mentor.

2.      Plan for a meaningful mentoring relationship, including time commitment from mentor; proposed research plan/research interests and possibility for funding; funding entity (if known).

3.      A formal commitment to submitting a competitive grant proposal and resubmitting if declined.

4.      Any additional information you want to convey.

-          Mentee abbreviated curriculum vitae (2 pages max).

-          Mentor abbreviated curriculum vitae (3 pages max). Include grants awarded (as PI) that demonstrate experience with the funding agency to which the mentee will apply.

 

Save the four components as a single Adobe PDF document, and submit via email to ORIntramural@odu.edu by 5:00 p.m. on February 26, 2016.
