Dear Colleagues,
As part of our ongoing commitment to streamlining processes and improving efficiency, the Division of Talent Management and Culture, in partnership with Payroll and Academic Affairs, is updating how we handle employment and income verifications.
Effective August 1, 2026, we will transition employee and student-worker verifications to The Work Number®, powered by Equifax, a 24/7 free service that enables near-instant employment and salary verifications. This secure self-service platform will significantly reduce turnaround times when you need your employment or income verified.
What this Means for You
Whether you are applying for a mortgage, leasing an apartment, buying a car, or applying for social services benefits, you will no longer need to request manual verification from HR Services. Instead, simply instruct your lender, landlord, or credentialing agency to use The Work Number®. In addition, you can log in to The Work Number® and request your own verification of employment.
Freeze Your Data
You may control access to your information by requesting a data freeze at any time, at no cost. A data freeze limits access so that many verifiers will be unable to view your information through The Work Number®. Please note that a data freeze may delay the processing of loan applications, employment verifications, or social services benefit requests.
