Dr. Jian Wu, assistant professor of Computer Science, in collaboration with his student Stefania Dzhaman at Lehigh University, is recruiting undergraduate students from diverse disciplines for an NSF-supported paid task to label the truthfulness and rationale of scientific claims. The annotations will be done online using a web portal that has been developed for this task. All are multiple-choice questions. Participants will watch a short training video (less than 3 minutes) before they can start working. The IRB has been exempted.
Requirements:
- An undergraduate enrolled in an academic program at ODU, preferentially in Physics, Biology/Chemistry, Chemistry, Psychology, and English.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 and above.
- Having access to a personal computer or a lab computer.
- Being able to read text on computer monitors.
- Being able to commit 5-7.5 hrs in total on this task for 2 weeks.
Compensation:
Participants will be compensated with an Amazon Gift Card of $80, sent by email.
Tentative Schedule:
Participants will receive an online training by watching a short video after receiving the recruitment confirmation email. After that, the annotation will start annotation. The total amount of time required to finish the task is about 5 -- 7.5 hrs.
