Old Dominion University dedicated its new Chemistry Building during “Building Our Dominion Week.” The 110,000-square-foot facility showcases the Collaborative Open Research Environment (CORE) concept of architectural design. All labs have large windows, allowing students to see their classmates at work. Every inch of the building has been thought out for student success. Old Dominion University hosted a dedication and ribbon-cutting for its newest residence hall, Hugo A. Owens House, on April 22. Owens House is named for civil rights icon Dr. Hugo Owens, who was also ODU's first African American rector. It is the second-largest residential facility on campus and contains classrooms, project rooms, a cybersecurity lab, a learning commons area, group study rooms, a faculty office and a large multi-purpose room.
