Across Campus - A Photo Essay
Old Dominion University and Cox Communications teamed with Something in the Water to offer the first SPLASH! Pitch Competition April 26 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. The event gave Virginia college student entrepreneurs a platform to present their ideas to a panel of judges and receive startup funding. Those judges were rapper Timbaland; Pro Football Hall of Famer Bruce Smith; and Nneka Chiazor, regional vice president of government and public affairs at Cox Communications. They judged six finalists during their five-minute pitches. ODU electrical engineering student David Gonzalez presented his EasyDraft proposal, which attempts to present engineering principles through the use of fun, engaging and educational video games.
