Across Campus - A Photo Essay
On Thursday Jan. 29, ODU ROTC cadets stormed Whitehurst Beach. But, thankfully, the mission wasn't a response to an invasion by hostile forces. Instead, the MSIII Cadets (junior/300 level students) received instruction in practical exercises of platoon-level operations, while the MSI and MSII Cadets (freshman/sophomore level students) received instruction on basic military skills. Likely one of the warmest spots on campus is the Kaplan Orchid Conservatory. That is where this Paphiopedilum Fernmore orchid, which is better known as a Lady Slipper, is housed. Most of ODU's orchids though are currently on display at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens for their annual Winter Orchid Display. It runs through March.
