Brett Josephson, PhD, is Associate Provost of Learning Initiatives at George Mason University, is a tenured higher education leader, educator, and researcher specializing in innovation, workforce development, strategic partnerships, and organizational change. He serves in a senior leadership role at the University, where he leads initiatives that bridge academia, government, healthcare, and industry to develop new programs, partnerships, and applied learning opportunities.
Throughout his career, Dr. Josephson has worked across traditional organizational boundaries to launch and scale initiatives supporting executive education, professional development, workforce transformation, applied research, and public-sector partnerships. His work has included collaborations with federal agencies, military organizations, healthcare partners, industry leaders, and academic units to advance mission-focused innovation while navigating the complexities of large institutions.
A nationally recognized educator and researcher, Dr. Josephson's scholarship focuses on organizational strategy, stakeholder engagement, leadership, innovation, and customer experience. He frequently advises leaders on how to move ideas from concept to implementation and create meaningful impact within complex organizational environments.
