Welcome Back Engineering and Technology Undergraduate and Graduate Students, Faculty and Staff! Here is the start of another academic year. These are exciting and challenging times to embark on the study of engineering and technology, for our students, faculty and staff alike.

As a student, you have become a member of a university community that is remarkable in its diversity and energy. I urge you to seize the opportunities for learning as well as making new friends in the classrooms, in your co-curricular activities both within and outside of campus.

As a faculty member, you have the privilege of working with and learning from an international teaching body of scholars, many of whom have distinguished themselves in their respective fields. I urge you to collaborate with your fellow faculty members and the talented students who seek to discover as well as realize their full potential with us.

As a staff member, you make the College function efficiently, engage students, enrich the lives of those around you, and are an involved and participatory citizen in our community. I urge you to build your own future in helping others build their futures as the thread that helps to pull us all together.

Our Batten College is a community. One which works together to improve our local and global communities. Each new academic year is an occasion for you to grow personally and intellectually, and to challenge yourself and others as a member of this community.
