ODU AND UNIVERSIDAD PRIVADA BOLIVIANA SIGN MOU
Old Dominion President John Broderick and the president of Universidad Privada Boliviana (UPB), Manuel Olave, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) May 15 on the ODU campus. UPB is sponsored by the Bolivian Confederation of Businessmen and is considered one of the top private Bolivian universities.
Under this agreement, ODU and Bolivian students could spend up to a year abroad taking courses or participating in research projects. In addition, both universities agreed to explore the possibility of developing a long-distance educational program, through which students from both institutions could simultaneously take a class offered by ODU and UPB faculty via long-distance facilities.
The universities also agreed to explore developing dual degree programs in engineering and went on a joint visit to the NATO Allied Command Transformation Headquarters, hosted by Admiral Anthony Johnstone-Burt.
