Harborfest/OpSail Street Closure, Parking and Transportation
The Downtown Norfolk Council has issued the following advisory regarding street and lane closures, and parking and transportation, in connection with Harborfest and OpSail.
STREET AND LANE CLOSURES
Thursday, June 7, 10 a.m. until Sunday, June 10, midnight
Waterside Drive closed between Main Street and Martin's Lane
Note: Access to ALL parking garages will be maintained.
Friday, June 8, 10 a.m. throughout the event
Commercial Place between Waterside Drive and Main Street closed to northbound traffic; access to parking garage only southbound
Boush Street local access only for garage traffic south of City Hall Avenue
Atlantic Street northbound between Waterside Drive and Main Street will remain open; southbound access limited to garage only
Saturday, June 9, 5 p.m. to midnight
No parking on the south side of Main Street (eastbound direction) from Granby Street to St. Paul's Boulevard; includes Taxi Zone

Note: Access cards for ALL monthly parkers will be honored until 5 p.m. on Friday, June 8. "Collect on Entry" rates will not apply to residents who are monthly parkers or those with 24/7 access.
HAMPTON ROADS TRANSIT SERVICE
Hampton Roads Transit will offer added bus, rail and ferry service to and from downtown Norfolk.
Light Rail
Wednesday and Thursday, June 6-7, between 9:30-11 p.m. - Additional light rail trains will provide 15-minute frequency, instead of the usual 30-minute schedule.
Friday, June 8, from 9:30 p.m. to midnight - Trains will run 10-minute frequencies instead of the usual 30-minute schedule.
Saturday, June 9, from 6-9 a.m. - Light rail will have 15-minute frequencies instead of 30 minutes. From 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., trains will run 10-minute service instead of 15, and from 9:30 p.m. to midnight light service will run 7-10-minute frequencies instead of the usual 30-minute service. Express bus service will connect Newtown Road to City Hall Avenue from 4 p.m. to midnight as an alternative to light rail.
Sunday, June 10, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. - Trains will run 10-minute frequencies instead of the usual 15 minutes.
Avoid lines. Visit www.gohrt.com and buy tickets in advance for light rail. June 8 and 9 customers can purchase $3 passes with cash only at the Newtown Road, Military Highway and EVMC/Fort Norfolk stations. Limited free parking is available at the EVMC/Fort Norfolk lot and only available Monday to Thursday, 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., and 6 p.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
Ferry
Hampton Roads Transit will operate ferry service between Portsmouth and Norfolk, including the Carrie B.
