SECOND ANNUAL DISTINGUISHED HONORS CELEBRATION CALL FOR NOMINATIONS!
The Frank Batten College of Engineering & Technology at Old Dominion University invites you to nominate candidates for the 2012 Distinguished Honors Celebration annual awards in the categories of Leadership, Humanitarian, Pioneer, and Service.
These awards will be presented at the Second Annual Distinguished Honors Celebration to be held Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Norfolk Yacht & Country Club in Norfolk, Virginia.
The following are for eligibility and the nomination procedure for each award category:
LEADERSHIP AWARD
Presented for outstanding leadership within the engineering profession, industry, government and/or the local, national, and international community. Nominees do not have to be graduates of Old Dominion University. Past recipients of the Leadership Award: David Edwards (2010) and Dr. Tommy Augustsson '81 (2011).
HUMANITARIAN AWARD
Presented for outstanding humanitarian aid, service or support to benefit humanity locally, nationally, or internationally. Nominees do not have to be graduates of Old Dominion University. Past recipients of the Humanitarian Award: David Plum '79 (2010) and George Sadler '72 (2011).
PIONEER AWARD
Presented to an outstanding pioneer or innovator in the engineering profession, industry, and/or the local, national, and international community. Nominees do not have to be graduates of Old Dominion University. Past recipients of the Pioneer Award: W. Channing Blackwell '99 (2010) and Stephen P. Wilkinson '71 (2011).
SERVICE AWARD
Presented to an outstanding pioneer or innovator in the engineering profession, industry, and/or the local, national, and international community. Nominees do not have to be graduates of Old Dominion University. Past recipients of the Service Award: Robert Kal '79 (2010) and William LaBelle '89 (2011).
Nominations must be submitted to engineer@odu.edu and shall include:
- Name, Occupational Address, Phone, and E-mail of nominee
- A Narrative Statement describing the nominee's qualifications for the award
- Name, Occupational Address, Phone, and E-mail of nominator
- Deadline for completed nominations is January 11, 2012.
