CORPORATE CIRCLE DAY POPULAR AMONG STUDENTS

After planning the event for months and making all the necessary arrangements leading up to and on the day of the event, staff members were very pleased and relieved when Corporate Circle members began setting up their displays and recruitment information in the Kaufman Lobby in early November.  The day had finally arrived. 

It was Fall Corporate Circle Day, a day when members of the College's Corporate Circle, a group of outstanding corporate partners who give generously to ODU Engineering, share their companies with students of the College.  What may come of the sharing includes mentoring, internship, co-op or even future career opportunities for the students.

By 11 AM, not only were there over half of the College's Corporate Circle partners represented, but there were also scores of students lined up to meet with those prospective employers.  The site hosted nearly 150 students during the 4-hour span and the corporate representatives were speaking with students throughout the event.

As the event ended and the employers and students had vacated the lobby, the smiles of a job well done spread across the faces of the staff members who had worked to make Corporate Circle Day such a success.  It was indeed a job well done but there was little time for self-congratulating; it was time to start planning the Spring Corporate Circle Day.
