TOWN-N-GOWN RISES TO THE OCCASION

Town-N-Gown, an ODU organization that endeavors to foster a closer relationship between the community, national defense forces (the "N") and the University, presented a $5,000 check to Team Tidewater August 26th in a ceremony hosting membership as well as individuals from the University itself. The financial support will go to help defray expenses on the house Team Tidewater is building for the national Solar Decathlon competition. Of those present at the morning event: Stuart Cake, TNG vice president of activities and events; John Whitelaw, ODU doctoral student and project leader; Bet Cake, TNG president; Duane Lougee, TNG immediate past president, whose administration chose the project for funding; and Oktay Baysal, dean of the Batten College of Engineering and Technology.
